The pictures are absolutely exquisite!!!! What a real joy to come home from conference and see all of your fantastic work!! So pleased that we’ll be buying quite a few for use in the printed version of The Journalist.
Oh, and I may ask to be able to have a couple for personal use only, if that’s okay??
Great job by everyone involved. A great future lies ahead for our student delegates and the NUJ, if your work and commitment is anything to go by!!!
So pleased you’re pleased, James! It was a great experience and I’m chuffed to have been part of it.
Suggest you go to our group pool on Flickr and let the individuals know through there which images you’re interested in licensing for personal use – quicker than clicking through from the slideshow.
I hope that – despite the state of the industry – that anyone who hires journalists will look at the work displayed here and seriously consider assigning work to those who have contributed to this site.
(I nearly wrote “giving work” rather than “assigning” it but after hearing the tale of the job centre worker who thought that the media industry’s custom-and-practice of unpaid internships and work experience was nothing other than modern-day slavery, I thought better of using that particular expression.)
As someone who was in Southport, being able to find out so much about what I missed – several meetings did happen simultaneously – is great.
All credit to the students for this work.

PS: To the photographers, if anyone does ask you about buying licences for your work, please don’t forget to check the NUJ’s Freelance Fees Guide … online at http://www.londonfreelance.org/feesguide
The photos were taken by five student delegates. If you click on the photos you’re interested in, you’ll be able to see who it was that took it and can contact them through Flickr or the contact page of this site.
